How does the PodRanker Score work?
Every podcast gets a PodRanker Score from 0 to 100 based on its chart performance across multiple platforms and countries.
- We collect chart rankings from Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and PodcastIndex each month.
- Each source carries a different weight -Apple and Spotify count the most, reflecting their larger listener base.
- For the global chart, a podcast's score reflects how well it performs across 28 countries, weighted by market size. Charting in the US counts more than charting in a smaller market.
- A score of 100 means a podcast dominates every chart in every major market. A score of 50 means solid performance in several markets or top rankings in a few.

The 100 biggest podcasts in the world right now
This chart ranks the most popular podcasts in the world by cross-platform performance. Instead of relying on a single source, we combine chart data from Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and PodcastIndex across 28 countries to produce one global ranking. The podcasts that show up at the top aren't just popular in one market. They chart consistently across multiple countries and platforms.
The top podcasts worldwide tend to be a mix of established names and breakout hits. True crime, news, and comedy dominate, but you'll also see interview shows and narrative series climbing the ranks. Rankings shift every month as new seasons drop and audiences move on, so the chart always reflects what people are actually listening to right now.
How the global ranking works
Each podcast gets a PodRanker Score based on its chart position in each country, weighted by that country's market size. Charting high in the US, UK, or Germany moves the needle more than a smaller market, but strong performance across many countries adds up fast. A score of 100 would mean a podcast tops every chart in every country we track. Most top shows land somewhere between 50 and 90.
