How does the PodRanker Score work?

Every podcast gets a PodRanker Score from 0 to 100 based on its chart performance across multiple platforms.

  • We collect chart rankings from Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and PodcastIndex each month.
  • Each source carries a different weight -Apple and Spotify count the most, reflecting their larger listener base.
  • The country score reflects how well a podcast ranks on each platform's chart for Ireland specifically.
  • A score of 100 means #1 on every platform. A score of 50 means solid rankings on most platforms.

The top podcasts in Ireland, ranked

Ireland has a disproportionately large podcast audience for its size. Per capita, the Irish listen to more podcasts than most of Europe. This chart ranks the most popular podcasts in Ireland using Apple Podcasts Ireland, Spotify Ireland, and PodcastIndex data.

The Blindboy Podcast is probably the single most recognizable name on the Irish podcast chart. It has been at or near the top for years. Beyond that, the best Irish podcasts include true crime shows covering Irish cases, GAA (Gaelic games) analysis pods that spike during the championship, and a range of comedy and culture shows. Irish listeners do consume US and UK content, but shows with a specifically Irish voice tend to outperform international competition.

Apple Podcasts has traditionally been the bigger platform in Ireland, though Spotify is catching up with younger listeners. The Irish podcast rankings move with the sports calendar, since GAA, rugby, and football pods all have loyal followings. For trending podcasts in Ireland, best Irish podcasts to listen to, or the latest Irish podcast chart, everything is above.

We update these rankings every month. Check out the worldwide top 100 or pick another country from the selector above.
