KILL TONY
Kill Tony is the live comedy podcast that turned open-mic night into must-see entertainment. Hosted by Tony Hinchcliffe with co-host Brian Redban, the concept is simple: aspiring comedians put their names in a bucket, get pulled at random, and have exactly one minute to make the audience laugh. After each set, Tony and a rotating panel of established comedians offer feedback, roast the performer, or occasionally discover genuine talent. It's been running weekly since June 2013, with over 750 numbered episodes to date.
The show found its current home at Joe Rogan's Comedy Mothership on Sixth Street in downtown Austin, Texas. Before that, it recorded at The Comedy Store in LA, then moved through several Austin venues including Antone's Nightclub and Vulcan Gas Company. The move to Austin supercharged the show's growth, and episodes now pull roughly 3 million downloads each. Tickets sell out in minutes.
The panel of regular comedians rotates, but fans know the recurring "regulars" well. Names like William Montgomery, Hans Kim, and others have built their own followings entirely through Kill Tony appearances. Big-name guests show up frequently too. Recent episodes have featured Joe Rogan, Shane Gillis, Jim Breuer, and Lance Armstrong sitting on the panel.
What makes Kill Tony different from other comedy podcasts is the genuine unpredictability. Every episode has real stakes for the performers, and the one-minute format means things move fast. You get heartfelt moments, catastrophic bombs, surprise breakout sets, and sharp panel commentary all in a single episode. It's the closest thing to a comedy talent show that the podcast world has produced.
