Hunt West Podcast

Jaden Bales runs Hunt West out of Wyoming, and the angle that separates his show from the rest of the western hunting lineup is policy. Jaden spent years working in conservation and public lands advocacy before launching the podcast, so when he interviews a state game commissioner or a wildlife biologist about the latest tag allocation fight, he actually knows the subject matter. That does not mean the show is dry. Plenty of episodes are just straight-up hunt stories from friends who just got back from a mule deer hunt in the Wind Rivers or an antelope trip in the Red Desert. But the value-add is context. Why did Wyoming change its nonresident tag allocation? What does corner crossing mean for your hunting plans in Wyoming and Montana? How are CWD management decisions actually getting made? Jaden brings on the people who know and lets them talk. He also does good field-skill episodes on things like glassing strategy, spot-and-stalk bow setups, and how to handle meat in eighty-degree September weather. The audience skews toward serious DIY public-land hunters who care about access issues as much as they care about punching tags. Newer show, only a couple years in, but already has a distinct voice you will not find on the older podcasts.
