Elk Hunt

Cody Rich is better known for The Rich Outdoors, but Elk Hunt is his tighter, more instructional spinoff focused on exactly one thing: helping you kill a bull. Every episode is built around a specific skill or scenario rather than interview chatter. One week it's calling sequences for September bulls that have already been pressured. The next it's how to pick an access point on a satellite map, or how to recover from a bad wind on a stalk that was otherwise perfect. Cody has been guiding and hunting elk in the West for well over a decade, and the show reflects that accumulated knowledge. He gets to the point fast. Episodes tend to run thirty to fifty minutes rather than the two-hour sprawlers that dominate the hunting podcast space, which makes it easy to knock out on a lunch break or during a training hike. Cody also brings on friends and fellow guides when a topic calls for it, but the show's center of gravity stays on him and on the mechanics of the hunt. If you have been in the elk woods a few seasons and you are looking for something more curriculum-style than conversational, this is the show. Good companion to his main feed and a useful reference during summer scouting prep.
