Wanderwise: A Family Travel Podcast

Megan Whitley Medlin is a mom of four and a working family travel advisor, which gives Wanderwise a different flavor from the average travel podcast. Because she books trips for a living, her episodes often come back to the boring-but-important stuff other shows skip: when to pull the trigger on a reservation, how to read resort fine print, which national parks are worth the driving detour, how to budget a trip without killing the fun of it. The show is still relatively new, which means Megan is building out the core topics she gets asked about most often: road trip routes, packing strategy for kids of different ages, stress-free airport days, the difference between marketed-to-families and actually-family-friendly resorts. Her delivery is calm and a touch advisor-y in the helpful way, more like a friend who happens to know the systems than a hard-sell agent. Episodes are 20 to 30 minutes, well suited to a single leg of a drive, and each one tends to walk away with two or three concrete tactics you can actually use. A solid pick for parents in the early planning stage of a big trip who want someone to explain what they should be thinking about before they start booking.
