Oxventure: A Dungeons & Dragons Podcast

Oxventure started as a lark between friends at Outside Xbox and somehow turned into one of the most beloved actual-play D&D shows on the internet. The core crew of Andy, Jane, Luke, Mike, and Ellen sit down with DM Johnny Chiodini and let their ridiculous characters wreak havoc across a homebrew setting called Tyranny of the Wizard King. Expect Corazon, a flamboyant pirate who steals everything not nailed down. Expect Dob, a half-orc bard whose main skill is making things worse. Expect Prudence, a warlock with a sentient sword that keeps complaining. The comedy here is tight because these are professional video producers who know exactly when to let a joke breathe and when to move on. Chiodini runs a fair table. He rewards creativity, punishes hubris with the gentlest smile, and clearly delights in watching his friends paint themselves into corners. Episodes often start with a recap from a different cast member each time, which is its own bit of running comedy since everyone remembers the last session slightly wrong. The show has spawned specials, one-shots in other systems, and a genuinely touching Deadlands arc. If you want an actual-play that prioritizes character and laughs over crunchy combat mechanics, this is the one to put on during a long drive. Episodes run long but they earn it.
