Liquid Weekly Podcast

Karl Meisterheim built Liquid Weekly into the default hangout for Shopify developers, and the podcast version carries the same energy as the newsletter that started it all. This is a show by and for the people writing theme code, building apps, and pushing the Liquid templating language to do things it was probably never meant to do. If you are a merchant, you can still get value here, but the target audience is clearly the technical folks.
Episodes cover theme architecture, the Hydrogen and Oxygen stack, the move toward headless commerce, metafields, custom sections, and the ongoing saga of Shopify platform updates. Karl brings on agency leads, freelance theme developers, and engineers from well-known Shopify apps to swap notes on what is working and what is breaking. When Shopify ships a new API or deprecates something important, this podcast is usually one of the first places to unpack what it means in practical terms.
The format is conversational and often gets genuinely nerdy, which is the appeal. Episodes run anywhere from 20 to 60 minutes depending on the topic. You will hear strong opinions about theme performance, accessibility, and the tradeoffs of different app architectures. For Shopify partners, developers, and technical founders who need to stay current with the platform, this show is close to essential. It is also one of the few places where the Liquid language itself gets the attention it deserves.
