Medieval warfare one week, Victorian social life the next, Cold War espionage after that. The range is enormous because the guest list is essentially every working historian in the English-speaking world. What makes it work is that these are people who've spent decades studying specific topics and can make even obscure subjects fascinating when given the microphone. History made genuinely interesting by the people who study it professionally. BBC production quality, naturally.
